Comparison of Different Asian Capital Markets
Comparison of Different Asian Capital MarketsCapital grocery store is like an investiture funds such as bonds, equities and mortgages ar traded in the market. Then, roof market give the gate be defined as a market of securities or equities or debt, where a keep phoner as well as politics buttocks raise a long-term fund. The market of m peerlessy is provided longer than a form. If it is the raising of short term funds, then it will be taking place on other(a) markets that is money market.In this assignment, we are given the title of Asian Market Capital. There are many a(prenominal) countries of Asian, so we generate chosen few countries to further details on it. There countries include Japan, Indonesia as well as Hong Kong.Among the countries, we have gone further deeper on the farming from Japan about their primer coat as well as history. We would further search for the information on the market peachy happen in Japan. Moreover, we leaving to compare the polar inv estor will be having in market metropolis field. In addition, we will be discussing the advantages and disadvantages of exhalation initial everyday offering for a firm. The example and details of cases will be further explained in this assignment.BackgroundIn this assignment, we will be discussing about the Asians capital market. Among the countries, we choose to go in deep about the capital market in Japan. In Japan, the Nipponese venture capital funds managers always to select either direct managerial monitoring or portfolio diversification to manage their firms investment risks (Gorman and Sahlam, 1989). However, in recent years of 2004, JVCs have used a mix of different strategies, including direct managerial monitoring. This change in industry practice provides an opportunity to test the applicability of agency theory in the JVC industry.There will be some background history about market capital happened in Japan in the past years.The graph above shown that the increase of land in Japan has affected the neckclothtaking price. The price of the land goes to the peak in the year of 1991. However, the peak area for the parentages price is in the year between 1989 and 1990. Moreover, the both prices started to fell when the year of 2000, and it is affected to both prices of land as well as stocks.This shown that the total loan outstanding and real estate loans outstanding held by all Japanese margins in year 1980 to 2000. From the year 1980 to 1990, the both total of loans and real estate loans increased substantially. When the total loans levelled off in year 1990, the real estate loans is continue to increase until the year 1998.Furthermore, there were a happened that Japan faced problem in the year of 1998 that bank failure resulted from excessive real estate lending. For example, the partnership of Nippon Credit Bank, there were only 25% real estate loan comprised up of the total loans, and it was failed in 1998.( Kentaro Iwatsubo, 2005)Literatur e ReviewThere are many countries in Asian, and in this assignment we have choose few countries as comparison. That is Japan, Indonesia, Hong Kong and Vietnam about their countrys capital market.JAPANThe business firms from Japan have relationships with commercial chief(prenominal) banks. The main banks may hold the equity interests in their consultation clients in turn, including investment banks. We study the impact of the relationships between firms, main banks as well as investment banks in Japans initial national offering (IPO) underwriting market. By issuing firms mass choose whether to engage an investment bank that is related, by virtue of communion the same main bank, or to engage a non-related investment bank. There are one of the literature concerns on the effects of banking relationships on advance to credit and the cost of raising capital.First, the banking relationships and access to credit according to Stiglitz and Weiss (1981) observe that market frictions relat ed information asymmetry can restrict the flow of the capital to investments. However, Petersen and Rajan (1994) think that by producing information about firms and using the information in their decisions can be partially solving the problem of market friction to the creditors. There are small effect on the cost of credit if ties with creditors, but the avail competent of credits financing is more for firms with ties.Secondly, there are the concerns about commercial bank integration into investment banking. Based on Rajan (1992) models the borrowers choice between informed bank debt and arms length public debt as an aspect of the firms effort to showtime the benefits of the related lenders ongoing monitoring against the lenders bargaining power. If banking relationships yield information advantages, then integration of commercial banking and investment banking may enhance a lenders bargaining power. In addition, a lender that is unified is faced with a conflict of interest, in t hat the proceeds of capital market financing may be used inappropriately to extinguish risky bank debt.Thirdly, the concern about choice of organizational building. It is given the tension between information cost savings and conflict of interest, the structure of banking organizations can be expected to reflect efforts to realize information cost savings while lessen the conflicts. From Kroszner and Rajan (1997), he use pre-Glass-Steagall data to investigate that how integration affects issue of quality and pricing. They have concluded that market pressures induced commercial bank to address conflicts by choosing levels of integration into investment banking thats is separately incorporated affiliates versus integrated investment banking departments.IndonesiaAccording to Fisman, (2001), the valuable resources for many firms are political connections, however, the connections impact firms strategies and their long-run financial performance are only a handful of studies that roll (Faccio, 2002 Johnson and Mitton, 2003). The study shows that the consequences of political ties are a particular interest because these ties are often inconsistent with other value-creating business strategies. By taking the benefit at face value, it is difficult to understand why only a minority of companies access immaterial capital markets. Domestic opportunities significantly reduce the net benefits of unconnected securities for some firms are a core idea. For instance, the firm with political ties often receive low price loan from state-owned banks (Faccio, 2002 Wiwattanakantang et al., 2006), so they do not submit to tap into foreign capital markets. It is also possible that global financing imposes extra costs on closely connected firms because the decision to cross-list shares on foreign exchanges often forces firms to adapt to the regulations that govern these markets (Coffee, 2002 Reese and Weisbach, 2002 Siegel, 2005). If only minority of shareholders are better prote cted abroad, then the foreign securities issue will becoming expensive for dictatorial owners accustomed to exploiting domestic investors. Equally, the international business press and foreign analysts will only pay attention on the firms with foreign securities (Baker et al., 2002 Lang et al., 2003). However, the political favours that often obscure legality is difficult to be reconciled by the high levels of public scrutiny.Hong KongSteen, P. Carey (2006) said that the relationship between hot issues markets and under pricing is well documented in IPO literature. Hot issues markets are characterized by a large number of offerings, concentration of young issues in particular industries, preponderance of smaller issues, usual over subscription and abnormally high initial returns, Ibbotson and Jaffe (1975).Steen, P. Carey (2006) wrote that Hong Kong IPO market given the size and importance of Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKSE). That is Hong Kong Stock Exchange Market cheer an pre gnant role in the economy in Hong Kong. We can see Hong Kong economy by viewing it stock exchange market by this we can also know the capital of the country. Several market conditions have been considered in the context of examining initial under pricing within the papers that have been written. Dawson and Hiraki (1985) in their research of the Hong Kong IPO market between 1979 and 1984 note that under pricing appeared to be superior during growing markets than declining markets. Steen. P. Carey (2006) state that their study predates the unification of the four Hong Kong stock exchanges in April 1986 into one central exchange (HKSE). McGuinness (1992), find out that the Hong Kong IPO market from year 1980 to 1986 that announces under pricing was completely linked with the state of market giving support to the suggestion of Beatty and Ritter (1986) that under pricing increases during the raising market period and decreases during the diminishing markets.In the stage of under assessm ent, Asian financial markets suffered one of the most severe and protected reversals of the post war period. Steen, P. Carey (2006). The collision of market situation on IPO under pricing was likely moderated in Hong Kong by the fundamental stability and formation of financial system. Miller (1998 p.277) said that Hong Kong was able to avoid devaluation because it has a monetary and foreign exchange system that is fundamentally different from that of the rest of Southeast Asia. Hong Kong has a exchange board but no central bank, and as Miller show that the resident of Hong Kong have the confidence in the exchange board. An additional resource of potency is that the financial stability and transparency of Hong Kong companies had extensively privileged interest coverage and return on equity than those in other Asian countries. Jaggi (1997) also found out that the performance and strength of Hong Kong companies is consistent because the company used the company information to monitor i t.In year 1997 there is a financial crisis occurred in Hong Kong when Hong Kong is beyond dispute. Chowdry and Goyal (2000) propose that the characteristic to define a country that experiences financial crisis will face a vast falling in its traded equity prices. In general, research investigating the impact of market condition on IPO underpricing has a well defined accompaniment which is recognized with the conversion from hot to cold. Steen, P. Carey (2006), found out that the year 1997 provides a unique measurement challenge as two significant events affected Hong Kong in that year the 27 October stock market correction and the political return of Hong Kong to Chinese rule on June 30. When the Hong Kong is tender to Chinese, this historical event has a extensive impact on Hong Kong Stock Exchange. The political handover was an exclusive event and many people celebrate for it, it was connected with a period of hesitation and was followed soon subsequently by the October 27 stoc k market correction. This uncertainty happens because the investor is unsure about the post handover economic and monetary performance of Hong Kong.Sub theoryIn capital market, there will be variety of investors for a company or firms who are wanted to expand their business. Moreover, there are some of the firms who need the investors not because to expand their business, but also to support their businesses start up.Angel InvestorIndividual investors who buy equity in small private firms are called nonsuch investors. Mostly, the early round of outside private equity financing is often obtained from angels. These investors included friends or acquaintances of the entrepreneur. The business receives a sizeable equity share for their funds because their capital investment is often large relative to the amount of capital already in place at the firm. Thus, these investors may have substantial influence in the business decisions of the firm. Besides that, angels may also bring experti se to firm that the entrepreneur lacks. There is a difficulty on finding angels since it is a lick how well a firm connected the entrepreneur is in the local community.Venture Capital FirmsVenture capital is a limited partnership specializes in raising money to invest in the private equity of young firms. Moreover, venture capitalist is defined as a person or investment firms that makes venture investment. Besides that, they are also expected to bring managerial and technical expertise and capital to their investment. Furthermore, venture capital is fascinated to the fresh company with the limited operating history which is too small to raise capital to the public market. This is because they are yet to reach the levels that are able to secure a bank loan as well as debt offering.The differentiation between Angel Investor and Venture CapitalThere are different between angel investor and venture capital. Angel investors are always the provider of risk capital to the small or private firms. In addition, the providers are not from the intermediary of other company, but they are wealth people. Moreover, angels are always as the second round of financing start-up goes through, before the firm looks for venture capital partnership, but it is later on they has exhausted of all their family and friends money. On the other hand, venture capital is the investors who invest their capital to a firm as part of the companys partners. So, the company will be the part of the partnership, and they are allowed to vote and make decision. Then, angels investors are only waiting for the return earns from company to them, and they are never go learn deeper to the company. Furthermore, they are not vote or make decision as part of the firm they had invested. However, the venture investors will be planning and finding the way on how more their investment will earn them the amount of returns.Initial Public Offering (IPO)IPOis an acronym for InitialPublic Offering. An IPO is the br anch sale of shares in a company to the public. When IPO occurs, a company will be listed in Bursa Malaysia, and shares will begin to trade immediately. The IPO market goes in cycles depending upon the appetite of investors for new issues. Often the share price will increase quickly after an IPO, so purchasing shares at the IPO price may be a covetedinvestmentopportunity. When management says it plans to take a company public, it means that an eventual IPO is planned. A successful IPO can raisea large amount of capital for the newlypublic companyand create substantial wealth for insiders who owned shares prior to the IPO.The differences between public and private is that public company can offer its stock to the public in huge amount, while private company is restricted to only friends and family members. Going public is important for those company which want to raise their capital. There are some pro and cons for going public.The Advantages of an Initial Public Offering (IPO)The pu blic offering increased the company stock and value this is so call increased in capitalization of the business. The stock can be used for various activities for instance currency for mergers and acquisitions, as stock option to help maintain key personnel, they may also sell their shares in the open market. The company will have the better access to the stock markets for future capital inflow. In general terms, the companys valuation and debt to equity ratio will perk up after going public. Company is able to receive much better terms from lenders.The company which going public is easier to promote compare to the company that are private. We can view the achievement of the public company in Bursa Malaysia and thus it had a higher recognition than private company. This benefit raises the public relation images and identifies the stability of a public company.IPO can provide the company with a chance to implement share options schemes for its workforce. This scheme is competent to en hance employee morale, maintain the loyalty of staff to company, and catch the attention of first rate employees. In long term, this can raise the employees productivity and increase the profitability of a company.The Disadvantages of an Initial Public Offering (IPO)For a company which going public need higher reporting requirements, it means further obligations and reporting requirements as public companies have to fulfill the range of regulatory necessities and meet evaluate standards of corporate governance. For example, listed companies need an auditor to audit their account and report the financial statement and publish the annual report in the Bursa Malaysia.As the annual report is going to publish in the Bursa Malaysia annually, the company is said to be losing it privacy. The company needs to disclose the report honestly to the public. They cannot hide any details regarding stock option plans, details of lease agreements, gross profit, net income and its borrowing.The other s disadvantages is when a company go public, they have to offer the shares to the public or in other countersignature which means that the business owners will have to share it ownership with other investor, and shareholders can affect the company operations they can voice out their judicial decision and decisions.ConclusionAs a conclusion, each country has different experience about the economic growth and the capital markets. Every country applies different style, for Hong Kong they do not have central bank and for Japan they have many commercial banks that they call as main bank. The capital market of the country can be view by the venture capital in the market or the listed company in the stock exchange market. The listed company in the stock exchange market show that the investment of the public to the achievement of the capital market in the country. It reveals how much wealth the country has and how good was the economics of the country.

Vendor managed inventory in fmcg sector supply chain
seller managed inscription in fmcg sector depict range of mountainsVendor Managed Inventory (VMI) is a provision and focus system in which seller is fully responsible for the rehabilitation of fund based on timely distributor point of sale training to the buyers ( retail merchant) place. This concept helps increases the node responsiveness by reducing the supply and demand gap thus giving the satisfaction to end guest by increasing availability of the desired product when customer wants it.Supply bowed stringed instrument partners must sh be their vision of demand, requirement and constraint to set the unwashed objectives (Guillaume et al 2008). Quality of buyer supplier trust and kin, spirit of ICT system and intensity of reading sharing has positive impact on VMI implementation (Marloes et al 2008). Information technology combined with VMI offers a clear view of chronicle dimension location giving supplier better information for replenishment planning (Malla et al 2007). Before implementation of VMI, analysis of the aim of uncertainty of customer demand is needed as high uncertainty in demand negatively influences the doing attained by means of VMI (Kazim Sari 2007). Upstream data transferred to suppliers i.e. current strain level and correct sales forecast is the most important performer for the successful implementation of VMI (Astrid Vigtil, 2007). Benefits of VMI implementation see on contextual factors surrounding the implementation and dyadic intentions (Jongkyung et al 2009). Implementing VMI is not solo effort it can be beneficial if company wide effort is involved (George kuk, 2004). VMI supply chain has improved dynamic response which causes reduction in manufacturing on follow and dose demand (S.M. Disney et al 2003). VMI gives benefits to retailer as manufacturer stock to a greater extent to reduce risk of stock out which in turn reduces retailer holding and shortage cost and increases its profit (Brendra k et al 2004).I mplementation of VMI in FMCG sector of Pakistan is a major challenge for the FMCG companies and the retailers both. Maintaining of high quality error-free service in the dynamic and uncertain environment of Pakistan with wish of ICT infrastructure (information and communication technology) is a huge pressure. Due to heterogeneous customer base complete VMI implementation in this scenario is not possible so FMCG companies need to carry out its operation in both the way i.e. for the both VMI and non VMI customers. For flexible and fast communication betwixt FMCG producers and retail chains proper ICT infrastructure is mandatory. So companies need to invest web-based information transfer systems like EDI (electronic data interchange). Adoption of VMI is not an easy trade union movement for companies as it requires heavy investment and commitment of retailers that how much they are resulting to section POS information. Before full and final implementation of VMI companies must need to go on out the right retailers to be served and the factors that are acting as a barrier from retailers side as the clear and fault free implementation forget have a great influence on in store(predicate) business surgical move outcomes.Objective of this paper is to find out the suppliers/manufacturer perceived objectives, drivers, obstacles, performance outcomes for implementing VMI in FMCG sector of Pakistan.Organizational objectives = Lead-time reduction, improvement in forecasting accuracy, improvement in customer service improvement in profit margin, improvement in rate of return, increase sales, control of bullwhip effect,Strategic drivers = Competition, shorter product life cycle, global supply chain, corporate restructuring. obstacles = Ineffective organizational structure, lack of suitable it infrastructure, improper decision-support tool, lack of trust and mutual understanding surrounded by supply chain partners, internal/external integration,Performance outcomes = Effective occupation planning, effective forecasting, effective replenishment, effective inventory control and management, effective logistics and distribution managementThis paper is organized in sections. Section 1 offers the introduction section 2 presents the literature review on research practices on VMI section 3 is comprised of methodology section 4 consist of data analysis and section 5 draws the conclusion regarding the findings.LITERATURE look backwardJan Holmstrom (1998) study a single chemise study to analyze the benefits of implementation of SAP R/3 in VMI betwixt seller and its wholesaler. It is found that administrative cost for vendor product is reduced with reduced delivery cost which in turn gives benefit to end customer through low prices. It is likewise found that demand variability, inventory level and order per delivery check time also greatly reduces which give competitive advantage to both vendor and whole seller. It is suggested that full benefit ca n be attained if vendor extends its number of customers.Sila cetinkaya et al (2000) studied the inventory replenishment and shipment decision in VMI through analytical model. Manufacturer with random demand patterns and retailers dispersed in incompatible geographical areas are interpreted into account. Manufacturer has the freedom of holding weensy sized orders and dispatches it until the consolidation volume gathers. It is found that inventory costs are reduced if the inventory and shipments decision optimally coordinated.Susan cohen kulp (2002) studied the impact of internal information (sales and inventory) accuracy and its reliability on supply chain profits in vendor managed inventory. Theoretical models of two system traditional and VMI are analyzed which indicates that the accurate information helps manufacturer to forecast the consumer demand accurately which increases manufacturer and retailer over all profits. Hypothesis was tested through survey of 53 divisions of manu facturers in the FCPG industry. Result shows that use of VMI increases with the detail and reliability of retailers internal information and wholesale prices are lowered with the extent of VMI use. It is suggested that VMI will lead to higher supply chain profits if retailer and manufacturer both are willing to share accurate information and use this information in taking inventory management decisions.Terrance et al (2003) identified the distinction between supplier managed inventory (SMI) vendor managed inventory (VMI) through theoretical framework. Economic value analysis (EVA) is employ to lay out the non financial benefits and burdens of VMI and SMI implementation and effect of VMI and SMI on enhancement of share pallbearer value.it is suggested that EVA analysis will help manager to identify the opportunities to increase the share holder value across both firmsS.M. Disney et al (2003) studied the effect of VMI strategies on transport operation and order batching activities . Three different scenarios traditional, internal consolidation and VMI are modeled through system dynamics methodology and tested through simulation. It was found that VMI supply chain has improved dynamic response which causes reduction in manufacturing on cost and transportation demand. Transportation cost saving in VMI is possible for long term and short term and this saving is not naturalized by escapable and inescapable cost. This paper may help in developing the policy regarding VMI and supply chain (distribution, production scheduling etc.).S.M. Disney et al (2003) investigated the comparison between VMI and traditional seriously linked supply chain in producing bullwhip effect. Different equations are developed and simulation model testing was applied. Four variables as a source of bullwhip price variations, rationing and gaming, demand signal processing, and order batching, were tested in traditional and VMI supply chain scenarios. It was found that through VMI supply cha in all the variables can be avoided through well designed system. Demand signal processing and order batching can only be eliminated through inventory holding in traditional supply chain. For future it is suggested that VMI would be of greater benefit if the supplier uses inventory and sales information in making production and inventory management decision process.George kuk (2004) investigated the determinants and outcomes of VMI in electronic industry through survey of 94 employees of 25 companies who fully implemented VMI. Four hypotheses were created having 3 case-by-case variables organization size, number of employees involved in VMI and type of logistic integration, 3 dependent variables information quality enhancement, service quality improvement and cost reduction. finished ANOVA testing it is analyzed that heavy(a) level of employee involvement, weeny size of organization and integrated logistics achieves much benefits of VMI. It is suggested that implementing VMI is not solo effort it can be beneficial if company wide effort is involved.Brendra k et al (2004) investigated how the substitution brand competition gives benefit to retailer in VMI. Two level supply chain is taking having one retailer and 2 manufacturer of competing substitutable brand and through analysis of mathematical model it is found that VMI gives benefits to retailer as compare to non VMI as due to increase competition manufacturer stock more to reduce risk of stock out which in turn reduces retailer holding and shortage cost and increases its profit. For future research it is suggested to include inter retailer intra brand substitution competition.Pamela danese (2006) identified the way to use extended vendor managed inventory (VMI) both upriver and downstream amongst various supply chain partners to organize the information and material flows. Case study analysis approach is used taking supply chain network of leading pharmaceutical company GlaxoSmithKline (GSK). Through collected data it is shown that Information flows among the supply network members, information systems and performance supervise system are many of the requisite of extended VMI. In GSK Information flow is achieved by EDI system which enhanced the service level, production capacity, and the inventory management. Central information system helps in production planning and order cycle processes in up stream and downstream supply network. Performance monitoring system motivates and improves the performance and allows supply chain members to over come their reluctances to share information. It is suggested that collaborative planning, forecasting and replenishment (CPFR) should be taken into consider future research on extended VMI.Yuliang Yao et al (2007) explored how supply chain parameters affect the cost saving in VMI and sharing of this benefit between buyer and supplier. Two level supply chain having single supplier and single buyer modeled. Through analysis of model it is foun d that inventory cost reduction greatly depend on ratio of order cost of supplier to buyer and ratio of carrying cost of supplier to buyer. Buyer takes all the benefits of inventory reduction whereas supplier inventory level may increased which may lead to high logistic cost to supplier side. So its suggested to have side payment arrangement between buyer and supplier to get VMI worked in long run.Malla et al (2007) investigated the impact of VMI model on organizations inventory associated cost. Case study of market leader of tire manufacturer has taken which has which has largest distribution network across India, USA and UK. Through simulation of model it is found that integration of information technology provide a clear picture of inventory holding locations which helps supplier in planning and replenishment of inventory across supply chain, which reduces bullwhip effect, safety stock and W.I.P and improves customer service. near of the limitations of this model are high initia l investment cost and lack of integration of systems.Astrid Vigtil (2007) investigated the required information exchange in VMI with the support of five buyer-supplier coupling in Norwegian geographic. Semi-structured detailed interviews were conducted with the representative of different companies having logistic managerial position or similar. It was concluded through interviews that flow of upstream data is more critical rather than downs-stream data. Visibility of current inventory status and sales forecast are most important factor for suppliers and there is different physical body of information needed depends upon operational mode of buyer in make to stock and make to order. In future it is implicated that for the higher efficiency of VMI electronic integration and automatic data transfer should be priorities as it supports supplier in planning of replenishment.Kazim Sari (2007) examined the benefits of VMI in achieving the increased performance through different levels of outside supply capacity, demand uncertainty, and lead time. Data were collected through simulation model Crystal Ball, an MS Excel add-in. After retrieving data statistical test MANOVA is applied and it was concluded that high uncertainty in customers demand has negative influence on the VMI performance. There is also a direct semblanceship between the manufacturing capacity of outside supplier and performance of VMI. As long as the ratio between retailer and supplier lead times form constant the performance level of VMI remain unchanged. For future implication it is recommended that before taking any decision relating VMI implementation it is necessary to conduct cost-benefit analysis if upstream information sharing is poor or customer demand is highly uncertain.Mikael Stahl Elvander et al (2007) proposed the structure for the numerous setups that could be arranged while establishing a VMI system. Semi-structured interviews were conducted from 15 company of Switzerland. Six frame work were prepared and tested against the focus group consisted of representative of nine different companies including suppliers and customers who already had implemented VMI, in store. Through workshop it was deduce that there are a number of different ways in which VMI system can be configured, that will limit a suppliers likelihood to employ the information made accessible through VMI. It is suggested that the challenges related to operation and management may differ in different VMI system configuration. This should be taken into consideration in order to find best optimal VMI system configuration.Atul B. Borade Satish V. Bansod (2008) studied motives, drivers, obstacles and benefits of VMI practices in e-environment. Key variables were compared between small and large Indian industry questionnaires were filled by 112 large companies and 86 small companies and hypothesis was tested through independent sample t-test. It was resulted that motives, drivers, obstacles and benefit s are considerably different for small and large enterprises while adopting VMI. It was found that the major objective for SMEs is profit improvement and for large companies is improved customer service. Driver for SMEs is competition and for large companies it is global supply chain. Obstacle in implementing VMI for SMEs is lack of IT infrastructure and for large companies is lack of trust between supply chain partners. Objective for SMEs is profit improvement and for large companies is improved customer service. Benefits gain for SMEs is better forecasting and for large companies is improved logistic and distribution management. It is suggested that IT can gives companies advantages to maximize end consumer value and reduce operating expense as it gives the real time information of marketing conditions.Guillaume Marques et al (2008) examined the integrated view of the VMI. Outside the short term pull system inventory replenishment, partners have to share their demand forecast, req uirements and their limitations to fix middle/long term common objectives. In order to conduct the study 28 articles were review and it was concluded that there was no doubt about the real application of VMI in industry. What clearly is VMI and how can it be correctly implement in supply chain is not clear. It cannot be justify whether VMI is a model, a process, a strategy, a relationship, a link.Juhwen Hwang, Su-Hwa Wu and Yu-Yen Huang (2008) studied the supplier performance enhancement in term of total relevant cost/unit. Three different models were proposed for single supplier with heterogeneous retailers, one is uncooperative model with independent inventory management system, second model was VMI model in which supplier is responsible for inventory replenishment order cost and certain degree of holding cost and third model was VMI/CRE model, in which VMI is combined with CRE (common replenishment epochs) strategy. Data was analyzed through Algorithm and numerical experimental d esign and it was concluded that VMI and VMI/CRE results are significant for supplier performance as compared with uncooperative model. For the future implication it is suggested that the supplier are required to provide incentives such as price discounts to compensate the losses which are bear by retailers so that reorient ordering schedules with CRE.Marloes J. T. Claassen et al (2008) studied the perspective of buyer in term of benefit gained through VMI. Research model was formulated having four winder variables quality of ICT system, quality of information, intensity of information sharing and relationship quality. Sample of 64 Dutch buyer responded through email and model was tested through partial tone Least Square (PLS) technique. It was resulted that the quality of the buyer-supplier relation, quality of IT-system and intensity of service level has an impact on buyer-perceived VMI benefits and it is not impacted by actual quality of the information shared. Furthermore three outcomes of VMI performance are higher customer service level, efficient control over supply chain and cost reduction to some extent. It is proposed that the primary benefit of VMI implementation is not cost reduction it is high customer service level and supply chain control which can be obtained through better relationship with supplier and efficient IT infrastructure.Jouni Kauremaa et al (2009) found out the types of benefits of VMI program and its sharing at the five levels (supplier vs. buyer). An exploratory multiple case study research methodology was used. Quantitative and qualitative data were collected through semi-structured interview from five operational levels. It is concluded that for buyer and supplier, VMI can lead to strategic and operational benefit both which is depending on pair intentions and contextual factors surrounding the given application. It is suggested that with the help of contextual factors VMI system can be designed with more accurate and perfect i mplementation targets.Kari Tanskanen et al (2009) investigated the challenges faced by the building industry at corporate level to manage logistics and to evaluate VMI as a solution of logistics for small items. Three residential house construction companies were elected located in Helsinki, quantitative and qualitative data were collected through web cameras observations and interviews. Percentage analysis was applied on quantitative data and on the bases of outcomes it was concluded that VMI is a suitable solution for small item logistics for the construction companies. For future it is implicated to work on other industries located in different geographical location.Jongkyung Park et al (2009) investigated a framework for integrative SRM (supplier relation ship management) system by exploring broad approaches to overall SRM functions. Frame work includes five stages Setting up of purchasing strategies, Selection of a supplier, Cooperation, supplier military rating and enhancemen t and endowment of continuous improvement. For this past studies related to SRM were examined and a framework for an integrative SRM system was recommended through which a case study was per create constructed on the taxonomical hierarchy procedure with a field survey. Results shows that the benefits of SRM can be obtained through the suggested framework and it is applicable to real fields through application case. It is recommended that this framework will help purchasing manager to analyze strategic features of SRM before and during the SRM system operation.Francesco Zammori et al (2009) identified the standard configuration of a vendor managed inventory (VMI) exact which will be a building block for the initial explanation of the agreement. For this study an Italian plant was selected as an ideal candidate because of complexity of its manufacturing process and the data in the form of the information flow and the technical specifics which are critical before any operational setu p are recognized and discussed and formed as parameters for the explanation of the elementary frame of the agreement. It is revealed that VMI agreement should be organized into segments by having generic and legal sides and official aspects included in the annexes. This will increases the tractableness of agreement As VMI relationship progresses with the time.it is proposed that this flexible structure of VMI agreement can be easily implemented by several industrial fields.Atul et al (2010) studied the difference in the practices of VMI in small and large Indian industry. Key variables were objective, drivers, obstacles and impact of VMI in large and small Indian industries, questionnaires were filled by 98 large companies and 63 small companies and hypothesis was tested through independent sample t-test. It was resulted that objectives, strategic drivers, obstacles and affected operational areas are considerably different for small and large enterprises while adopting VMI. It was also found that the major objectives for adopting VMI are customer service and profit improvement. For future it is recommended that the research should be perform on more variables and for other geographical (culture) areas.METHODOLOGYData were collected through primary source and research approach to be of qualitative in nature as the aim of this paper is to explore the supplier perception and opinion about implementation of VMI in FMCG companies operating in Pakistan. Exploratory semi structured interviews had been conducted with the key person of FMCG companies working in Pakistan. Then through the inductive reasoning observation will be analyzed and the theory is be generated.

Personal Narrative - Baptism Essay -- Personal Narrative Essays
Personal Narrative - BaptismI took my first step down into the font and thought. Baptisms are funny things. The brightness of it all is profound. It seems as if there is one brilliant mirror reflecting boisterous cheer everywhere. The idea is to pack as much happiness, either real or faked, into one too-hot room in the hope that it will be absorbed into the absolutely petrified soul of the prospective individual about to be baptized. The joy was so thick that it bounced more or less the walls and the floor searching for something to absorb it, something to hold it in permanently. The beams certainly had many obstructions to navigate around. There were too many fat women with satiated grins made wider sleek over by the application of inordinate amounts of heavy crimson lipstick. Hair that reached ever upward in a maddeningly vertical gyre, as if they were competing with steeples in an effort to be closer to God. Maybe they thought the preponderance of hair would be a better conduit for God. With all the glistening hair spray, their hair had to be a manager for something. Maybe there was a lightning rod tucked inside the cocoon of hair. Indeed, the hair imparted a degree of luminosity to the scene. At just the right angle, the man-made light would hit the summit of hairdom and create an angelic halo around their persons. Perhaps it was one big conspiracy. Perhaps some secret Relief inn tome specifies that women should wear eye-dizzying lipstick and hair spray in proportion to their weight. That made it all so bright. The Spirit, this pure being of the true, was being artificially implanted into the baptismal font through the use of cosmetics and cover-up. The brethren ruined the conspiracy theory, or maybe they just didnt have ... ...ed her head against my chest, tucked it among the folds of my baptismal clothes, pursuit the light she radiated, seeking the unproven originator I wish I had. It was a power that even my grandma couldnt define, though I kne w she had it. The power of tension, the power of electrons, even the power of gravity paled in comparison to the power possessed in this embarrassed but strong old woman standing at my side. I wondered wherefore everyone didnt come to gain this power. But I already knew the answer. The truth behind this power could not be given in equations stitched on the game of a lab coat. It could not even be obtained by simply reading of its source. The power is personal to us all. It is different for everyone. My grandma found her truth and her power, and I found myself clutching frantically for the beams of light that raced joyously out of her still trembling frame.

I had the opportunity to join over 200 other participants at the day-long Aspergers Conference. Participants came from as far away as Africa to assist with organizational tasks and to listen to Dr. Attwoods presentation, as well as his answers to questions from the audience. Dr. Attwood, who has worked with Aspergers patients and lectured around the world, commented, I have always been move by their patience and ingenuity in achieving abilities others acquire without a second thought. Dr. Attwood believes, Children with Aspergers Syndrome have the strong desire to have friends while recognizing their considerable difficulties with achieving and maintaining veridical friendships. Many experience ridicule, exclusion, teasing or bullying. Education programs can be used to assist them. Education is a powerful tool. The conference provided lessons beyond Aspergers Syndrome. The more you learn about one disability, the more you learn about the nature of all disabilities.

Othello :: essays research papers
OTHELLOIn the play Othello, the character of Othello has certain traits, which make him seem naive and unsophisticated, compared to many other people. This is why Iago, is able to manipulate him so easily. Iago told Roderigo, "O,sir, content you. I follow him to serve my turn upon him "(I, i lines 38-9). Iago is saying, he only follows Othello to a point, and upon reaching it he give not follow him any longer. This is the first sign of how deceitful Iago will be. Iago has his own evil agenda in mind and he will drug abuse his reputation of being &quothonest Iago&quot to influence Othello. The Moor, as many Venetians call him, is of strong character. He is rattling proud and in require of every move throughout the play. The control is not only of supply, but also of the sense of his being who he is, a great warrior. In incite I, Othello has runs into Brabantio, who has come to kill him, but before anything could happen Othello said, "Hold your hands, both of y ou of my inclining and the rest. Were it my cue to fight, I should have known it without a prompter" (I, ii, lines 80-3). The power shown here is quite astounding. The nature of Othellos character is of a dark man. A dark man, not only because he is black, but also because his whole soul is very mysterious. He is mysterious in that he believes there is magic brewing everywhere. With this dark side he is also very outgoing, and not very bright. It is almost too easy for Iago to trick him into believing that Desdemona is unfaithful. Though he doesnt reflect too much on his past, it is apparent that he has been very winning in many battles and earned the rank of general. The fact that he is supposed to be a experienced soldier and leader contradicts his actions of letting his jealous emotions ruin his life. For all the dangers and encounters he has been involved in, this man is still naive of the corruptness of other individuals. Othello has a trusting nature that will bring abo ut his downfall. He put his trust in Iago during times of war and during Othellos marriage to Desdemona. Although this wasnt very bright of Othello, even if he was not as na&iumlve or more cynical, it still would have been hard for him to discover that Iago was lying.
